Building confident Canines

Emily is amazingly patient and creates a relaxed non judgmental space for training. We learnt some really good tricky teenager tips for our crazy retriever and also found the sessions excellent for socialising with other dogs. Great to practice the training at home and then to see progress in class. I would definitely recommend Emily and we will be using her for some one to one training too

Reactivity and Noise Sensitivity

Collie x lab struggling with LOUD noises (Fireworks, hoonatics on motorbikes) and reactivity to certain things out and about.

todays follow up visit was such a good day, No excited barking on leaving the house. A calm focussed passing by a noisy truck parked up lifting a skip with its hydraulics, No ripping arms out of sockets to chase cats. An awesome ”stop” when the ball rolled across the road!

His mum really understands him and the psychology behind training methods and puts so much work into him which is paying off.

Implementing rest days - careful planning of routes and times of day to manage arousal levels - monitoring body language “the whispers before the screams - ”breed related outlets and enrichment - The principles around desensitisation and counter conditioning -  Plays pattern games out and about

Frustration and redirected aggression

Don’t be afraid to ask people not to approach “DOG IN TRAINING!”

We saw this lovely boy a few weeks ago as he was struggling with managing frustration and redirecting aggression onto his human

Proud of the progress today! Calmer dog and more confident owner. Life’s hectic but his owner has really put the time in.

We’ve done a lot but some of the biggest things that have helped up to this point

Having the confidence to ask other dog owners to not approach whilst training and to keep off lead dogs away Management around “trigger stacking” including ways to promote quality rest and sleep. Understanding what his body language is saying and helping out appropriately Short stints of training being kept fun - I’m a fan of “kettle time training”
