Meet Emily – Your Friendly Dog Trainer and Behaviour Specialist
Hi, I’m Emily!
After 22 years working in the NHS, I made the leap from fixing humans to helping them better understand and communicate with their dogs. And I haven’t looked back since.
Dogs have always been a huge part of my life—I’ve never been without one! I’ve loved each of them for their quirks, personalities, and just the right amount of crazy. But when I took one of my own dogs to a traditional trainer, something didn’t sit right. The methods just didn’t feel like a good fit for us. That’s when I discovered reward-based, positive reinforcement training—and it completely transformed our relationship. I saw first hand how modern dog training methods could create a happier, more connected partnership.
This experience inspired me to study with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT) and turn my passion into a career.
I have a special love for high-energy, working breeds, thanks to my own lively crew—Setters, Retrievers, Labs, Spaniels, and Collies have all been part of the gang! My approach to dog training is friendly, down-to-earth, honest, and completely judgement-free. I’m here to support you with patience and encouragement, helping you and your dog build a strong bond through fun, effective training techniques.
Whether you’re dealing with behaviour challenges or just want to improve communication with your canine companion, I’m here to help you every step of the way.

Training Both Ends of the Lead – Dog Training & Canine Behaviour Support in the North West
Dog training and behaviour support isn’t just about teaching commands—it’s about building a deeper, more trusting relationship between you and your dog. That’s why I focus on training both ends of the lead: helping you understand your dog and giving your dog the skills to succeed in your world.
As a qualified trainer and behaviour specialist, I use modern, science-based methods rooted in positive reinforcement and canine behaviour science. My approach helps you communicate clearly, feel more confident, and ensure your dog feels safe, understood, and supported throughout the training process.
Whether you're working through behavioural challenges like reactivity, anxiety, or impulse control, or you simply want to improve life skills like lead walking or recall, I offer tailored, compassionate support that gets to the root of the issue—not just the symptoms.
Common areas I can help with include:
-
Loose lead walking and calm leash behaviour
-
Reliable recall
-
Jumping up and overexcitement
-
Canine reactivity and behaviour modification
-
Fear, anxiety, and overarousal
-
Understanding your dog’s body language and triggers
Together, we’ll create a custom plan that strengthens your bond and helps your dog thrive, using kind and effective techniques that align with modern dog behaviour science.
Let’s work together to build a calmer, more connected partnership with your dog. Get in touch today to learn more.
