What does your dogs walk mean to him?

I’m going to start by sharing a few book recommendations that i’ll be using with a current client.

1 The vet says rest - Laura Carter2 Essential Enrichment : How to improve your dogs life - Charlotte Garner

So, The window of opportunity - How you structure your dogs day. If they sleep for 18 of their 24 hours, how can we put quality into the time they are awake (even if it’s just an hours walk and that’s their day done)

Looking at this can help prevent behavioural problems, obsessive behaviours, pulling on the lead ect.

My current case - ADOLESCENT. WORKING BREED. RESTRICTED EXERCISE due to an injury - Displaying redirected aggression onto his owner. Frustration

PlanVet check for painShort purpose driven walks including breed specific outlets on long line (We are not going to worry about beautiful lead walking at this point and are mindful of physical limitations)Enrichment indoor / outdoor (For stimulation and fulfilment)Considering arousal levels and specific activities in relation to day planning and when to do whatEnsure enough quality restTime to “be more dog”Consider dietGeneral obedience, boundary training and impulse control work can begin once these measures have brought the brain back into a thinking state
